Now, Rs 75k for fisherfolk who rescue whale sharks

Goa launched a whale shark conservation project on International Whale Shark Day, spearheaded by Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane. A reward of Rs 75,000 will be given to those who rescue endangered marine species. A marine life protection committee, led by Professor B C Choudhury and including experts and fisherman Francis Fernandes (Pele), will safeguard all marine species.
