Sports ministry and AIFF compelled top-tier clubs to participate in the Indian Super League, which will now kick off on February 14 with all 14 teams. A single-leg home-and-away format has been adopted for this season, with clubs paying a Rs 1 crore franchise fee. The I-League will also proceed with its 11 participating clubs.
