Soon, fishing canoes to help Goa coastal patrol

Goa's fisheries department is enhancing coastal patrols by enlisting local fishing canoes. These agile vessels will be hired hourly to swiftly respond to illegal near-shore fishing activities, particularly from neighboring states. This initiative, alongside upcoming drone surveillance, aims to protect local livelihoods and juvenile fish populations by improving real-time monitoring and rapid intervention.
