Calangute traffic cell halts ops after supply cut over unpaid bill

Goa police's Calangute traffic cell has ceased operations after the village panchayat disconnected its power supply due to an unpaid electricity bill of Rs 8 lakh. The cell, operating at the Poriat football ground since 2012, failed to pay dues for over a decade. The panchayat has also covered sewage and vehicle costs for the cell.
